Dubrovnik Tourist Board aims to promote the Republic of Croatia, the City of Dubrovnik, and all businesses that provide hospitality and tourism services. Due to its rich history and cultural heritage, Dubrovnik is one of Croatia's most famous and visited cities. It is inscribed on UNESCO's List of World Heritage Sites. Dubrovnik was featured in Game of Thrones, Star Wars, and Robin Hood, which makes it a part of popular culture and an even more exciting place to visit.

About the Collaboration

In collaboration with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, we successfully conducted promotional geo-targeted campaigns during the UEFA Euro 2024 Championship in Germany and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The campaign aimed to promote Dubrovnik as an attractive tourist and holiday destination. The idea that we suggested to the Dubrovnik Tourist Board was to geo-target stadiums during the most significant sporting events of the year to reach out to people interested in visiting Dubrovnik. People who attended the matches and fan zones were our target audience because they are interested in travel, vacation, and holidays and have higher income; they are a similar audience that comes and visits Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik Tourist Board gave us information on their key markets, and with all this information and trust, we started our collaboration.

 

 

 

 

UEFA Euro 2024

During the UEFA Euro 2024, we used exciting videos and photos with various slogans as teasers targeted towards the audience in the stadiums and in the fan zones before, during, and after the matches. We noticed that many people actively use their phones before the match, during half-time, and after the game when waiting to get out of the stadium. We used that insight to make a successful promotional campaign for Dubrovnik as a top tourist destination during UEFA Euro 2024. With an innovative approach to targeting key audiences, we reached over 775.000 people.

Results

11 matches were targeted during the championship and some of the most significant results include

    • 100.000+ people reached during the Croatia – Spain match in Berlin
    • 90.000+ people reached during the Switzerland – Italy match in Berlin
    • 77.000+ people reached during the France – Belgium match in Düsseldorf

 

Paris 2024 Olympic games

We used our know-how, insights, and knowledge from the UEFA Euro 2024 to promote Dubrovnik during the biggest sporting event of the year, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For Paris 2024, we had to adjust our advertising strategy slightly to achieve the best possible result. Because sporting events lasted for several days, in collaboration with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, we agreed on what our key events and locations are: the Opening Ceremony, Olympic Village, tennis finale, which was held at Roland Garros Stadium, and the athletics finale, which was held at Stade de France. We reached 250.000 people more than during the UEFA Euro 2024 Championship. Through geo-targeting key events and locations, we achieved over 1.7 million impressions.
