A Brand New Branding for an Adults-Only Retreat in Postira - Brač Island
Hotel Brattia
Boutique Hotel Brattia in Postira, on the island of Brač, is a unique example of a complete architectural restoration of a public-use building from the mid-19th century and a fundamental reconstruction of a residential and agricultural structure, including the amenities typical of that era. As a part of the Orvas Travel Group, Hotel Brattia recently underwent a restoration, and our client decided to follow up with renewed branding.

Our Approach
Creating an entirely new branding can be challenging as first impressions play a key role in the process. So, as we usually do when we create a new brand, we showcase a couple of possible directions for the logo, or to be more precise, for the brand mark. Once we reach a consensus about the desired direction, we continue to develop the selected art direction.
Since the hotel’s name was already predefined, which means “Brač,” there was a small chance of missing the brand essence.

What did we do?
We selected and combined the two motifs for the branding. One is characteristic of the island of Brač, and the other of the hotel Brattia itself.
Immortelle
In the branding we created, immortelle (Croatian; smilje) serves as a visual anchor, encapsulating the essence of a brand’s identity. Its symbolism of timeless beauty, resilience, and healing properties makes it an ideal emblem for brands in wellness, cosmetics, and sustainable industries. Its association with the sun and gold reflects vitality, luxury, and nature’s enduring power. Just as the plant withstands harsh conditions, a well-crafted brand must be adaptive, enduring, and memorable—qualities that immortelle embodies in nature and its visual representation.
The Arch
Prominently featured in the doors, windows, and entryways of Hotel Brattia, it plays a central role in its design language. An arch represents elegance, strength, and timeless beauty, reflecting heritage and modern sophistication. This shape is not merely decorative; it signifies a passage, a transition, and an invitation—mirroring the hotel’s commitment to offering guests an experience of warmth, luxury, and discovery.
The arch is subtly incorporated into the Hotel Brattia logo, framing the delicate floral illustration and reinforcing the connection between nature and architecture. Just as the arch stands strong yet graceful in Mediterranean structures, the brand embodies resilience, hospitality, and enduring charm. Whether in the grand stone archways or the soft curves of the logo, this design element encapsulates the spirit of Brattia—where tradition and modernity seamlessly merge.







The Result
The result is a complete brand book with all the required elements for the hotel. The carefully curated color palette draws inspiration from the hotel’s surroundings—deep navy blues and muted teals reminiscent of the Adriatic Sea, earthy greens reflecting the lush Mediterranean flora, and soft beige tones mirroring the warmth of traditional stone architecture. These natural, calming hues create a visual identity that is both sophisticated and inviting.
The typography is thoughtfully chosen to complement the brand’s luxurious yet approachable aesthetic. A refined serif typeface conveys a sense of timeless elegance, while a clean, modern sans-serif provides a contemporary balance, ensuring clarity and readability across digital and print applications. This harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements reinforces the hotel’s commitment to offering a premium yet authentic experience.
Every detail has been meticulously crafted, from the logo’s delicate floral illustration and arch motif to the cohesive integration of branding across various touchpoints—stationery, signage, website, and interiors. The result is a high-quality, contemporary brand identity that enhances the hotel’s visual appeal and resonates with its target audience.
